According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Delta State Police Command, the suspect initially approached his girlfriend with a sinister proposal. He asked her to "give" him one of her triplet sisters to sell for financial gain. Shocked and horrified by the suggestion, she flatly refused.
Unrelenting in his greed, the young man later took matters into his own hands. He abducted the three sisters, aged just 10 years, from their family home. He then sold them to an underground syndicate for a meager sum of ₦250,000.
The tragedy escalated when it was discovered that the triplets were not found and the sister started looking out for them. At this time, the triplets were all brutally murdered by their captors.
The horrifying case came to light after the parents of the triplets reported their disappearance to the police. Acting on intelligence, the Delta State Police Command launched an intensive investigation, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
